REMUSICALS HISTORY
I didn't become much of an avid internet-user until my late teens. During those years, I mostly utilized the web for communicating with friends, exploring fandom sites I enjoyed, and meeting new people in chatrooms.
My YouTube account was created on August 8, 2006. I originally created it as a simple means of favoriting and commenting on videos I liked, but then eventually started uploading my own content. I began animating mainly for fun, but also hoped to use it as an avenue to meet fellow fans in the Resident Evil online community.
From 2006 ~ 2009 I worked consistently on the REMusical videos. Over just the first few months of uploading, my YouTube channel suddenly started gaining a lot of traction. As I interacted with the viewers, the numbers only continued to rise and the REMusicals officially had a fan following. These were the golden years in terms of channel traffic, video production, and fan content. It will always be looked back on very fondly and gratefully.
However, in 2009 my life had taken a very busy turn. I had less time to be online, and unfortunately the REMusicals fandom had started to teem with negativity. And so, I made the decision to take a lengthy hiatus from YouTube. I returned in 2010 with a single Survivor episode, but mostly remained estranged until 2013.
From 2013 to 2020, the REMusicals made a resurgence with an all-new art style and animation quality. Despite there now being a longer production time between videos, these new parodies proved to remain successful among the viewers, with some uploads reaching similar numbers to that of the golden years.
Another hiatus was needed, however. With major changes happening to both the world and my personal life, the REMusicals went dormant once again. But that won't be the end. Expect to see new content some day...
